What??
You absolutely give up Sprong if that's their main interest for Duschene. No question IMO.
Obviously all the other pieces factor in but if their main concern is getting Sprong, Im all for letting him go for Duschene. |

Let me guess...you guys either didn't see eye to eye when he was a regular poster OR he said something(s) back then that you really didn't like.
I say this because your relentlessly consistent negativity towards his blogs, blog titles, use of charts, etc has a real grudge feel to it. - MattStrat
No, I actually enjoyed talking with him back when he was a regular poster.
Edit: I can't recall the name of the former Pen's blogger, but he just basically talked about the team, and RW more talks about the team's numbers or wants to paint a "woe are the Penguins" picture. I prefer the former. |

I think you'd have to do Sprong and one of either Maata or Pouliot+. I view the possible Duchesne deal in the same light as the Iginla deal; it's a luxury, not a need, and you could use assets to shore up other spots. Obviously Duchesne is not an old vet rental like Iginla, but it seems like they're going after the name instead of the need. |

If they are trading sprong and maatta, it better be for an upgrade on defense and have term left. I don't want them dealing Sprong for a luxury piece. |

He's a pretty versatile forward, so you can throw him at center and create a 1-2-3 punch with sid, geno, and duchene. I mean they were going to pay staal 6 mil anyways. Or you can just stick him with sid |

Its possible the Pens might not send D their way. They have Fleury, Sprong, Fehr and loads of picks.
It's even more possible there isnt even a trade with Colorado. |

I think they'd be better off holding onto their pieces and either move them for an upgrade on D or just not trade anyone. |

I would only consider maatta + sprong for duchene because of the expansion draft. Really a little nervous on how you deal with protcting 3 dmen with maatta and schultz under consideration. Plus side if lvs claims schultz then he will suck for them and we can sign him long-term the year after on a team friendly deal. But we are in our cup window so I want him next year. |

I agree. Duchene would be nice, but would much rather have Barrie or Trouba. Then right before the expansion draft you trade maatta so you don't lose him for nothing |

Trouba is untouchable. That is all I came here to say. He played the trade request to get more money, and he lost. The way he's been playing since his return has him in line to be in the $8 million per year range next time around. |

You dont know that for sure. The fact that you think he wants 8 million a year added to the fact he didnt really want to stay in the Peg at all should make you realize he's totally touchable. |

Duchene is a pipe dream. It's not happening. We need a dman more than anything else. MAF, Fehr, Jeff Taylor for Lack, Pesce, and DiGiuseppe. That's more reasonable with maybe a pihere and there. If you want pipe dream targets go for need like Zadorov, |
